Mybb ladies: which straightner does she need?

Hair straightening? What is wrong with curly hair? Mine and my GF's is really curly and looks great!
 
I'd go with GHD.
My wife and my boss swear by it.

I once asked my boss why she looked miserable and was she having a bad hair day.
Her response was, "@sshole, I'm a coloured with a ghd, there is no such thing as a bad hair day".
 
Bought a GHD for the wife of Friday. She has a couple of the el cheapo type laying around. GHD is much better.

Let's not even talk a bought the brownie points you earn. LOL :wink:

OP is not married...

Perhaps hoping for a shag, but that would set a high price for any such future events.

I suggest the OP reconsiders his gift. Make it max R500 value. Up to that amount is still ok to spend on a friend or someone a bit more special.

Also a hair "utility" such as straightening devices and hair dryers are "personal" items to ladies. This could be seen as insulting if provided by just a friend.

OP you say you are interested, but not in a long term relationship yet...
find out who her fav artist(s) is/are. Buy her some music or compilations there of, she will probably prefer that.

else if she is interested, but shy, buy her something else and then make your own compilation disk with special songs and give that with some nice roses/flowers(some ladies prefer different) and some nice choccies.
 
Status of the relationship aside... if you go with a straightener, it can only be a GHD. Don't even consider anything else if you want to survive.

Personal items??? LOL!! It's a hair straightener. Insulted is the last thing I would feel if my bf had to buy me a GHD.

That is SO boring and old school. Like flowers and chocolates? Boring much?

a well thought out gift that took time and consideration even something simple like a cd compilation would one hopes be appreciated more than just an item bought from a store.

Flowers and chocolates are an added extra.....

And no, I'm not fighting.

He has met her. He really likes her. There is no established romantic relationship, unlike you and your BF.
So he requires a gift you can give just a good friend, or something that says “I like you“.

That is my opinion, no offense meant to you or anyone else. :)
 
Their was a BaByliss model back in 2007 which received better reviews than at that time current GHD, although the mentioned BaByliss was quite expensive, remember this being an article in the Cosmo.

The thing is though... GHD is like Apple... Speaking in brand value terms.
 
I :love: my GHD, best investment ever made. Have mine for about 7 years now and still in an excellent condition.
 
To the mind readers in training. No. I'm not looking for a quick shag. I am not that type of guy and hopefully never will be.

I am hoping for something genuine, but I'm also not a fool. I don't see myself forking out R2K on a gift to a Lady that might not be interested in me.

I'm a Romantic and I have much better ideas and expressions of love than mixtapes and chocolates.

I appreciate the feedback though. If she becomes my one and only, she might get a new R2K straightner, but not now.

So then don't buy her anything . . . just yet. If she really wants the same thing as you do, it wouldn't matter hey.
 
My wife has a GHD, but she has been making use of her sister's Cloud 9 and she says the Cloud 9 is far better.

I think the problem with the GHD is that it doesn't have an adjustable heat setting. So the heat setting might be too high for the woman's hair type and might cause damage in the long run.

My colleague and I share a babyliss at work, it's a great machine and we have been using it for years. I've got curly hair and it does a good job. To be honest, I would feel awkward to get such an expensive gift from someone I'm not in a relationship with, especially if I cannot reciprocate the same expense. Imagine you get her a R1.5k GHD and she gets you a music DVD. She going to feel shytty IMO. (Lol, unless she just wants your money :p )
