Stockvel? Is this a new concept ?![]()
no. it's a very old concept that black people use. it can be useful sometimes but it's a pain to make sure that people pay. they need to be disciplined...

Should rather start a milk scheme.
Google "Adriaan Nieuwoudt" or "Vloog Theron" for more info.![]()
While we're at it, how about Greg Blank or J Arthur Brown or Mr Tannenbaum?
yeah freaksta, because that R20 you save now, which in today's money will buy you X Amount of Breads today, will become X amount of "bread slices" in a few years time.
saving up too much of your money for "one day" is for losers, especially the ones that die in a car accident before they make it to their magical R100 000 or whatever...
Seriously, Niccia is the perfect cautionary tale. She was someone who instead of saving went to the most expensive nightclubs and bought a ridiculously overpriced pedigree cat for her bf and bought an iPhone, expensive coffee machine, etc.
Now she is panhandling online because something unplanned happened. (If she had insured her car instead of living above her means this wouldn't have been an issue but I digress...)
If she had put R300-R400 away each month she would have a little nest egg to carry her through the hard times.
You have to have some money squirreled aside for a rainy day.

Hello,
If I may, the nightclub was R50 - and at the time I could afford it. the iphone i bought on contract for R185 a month, and the coffee machine I won as a prize. Please, please dont judge me if you dont know me. I have NOT been living above my means, contrary, I have been struggling ever since my commission was taken away. I dont have clothing accounts, just the basic stuff, and because I had to fix my car, and because I no longer get that extra income of my commission(yes, tourism doesnt pay alot!) I now have trouble living. I cant AFFORD to even save R10 atmYes, I got about R3000 extra per month on commissions, and that has been stopped 3 months or so ago, and since then I am in trouble. Its not because I spend my money on luxuries, its because of situations beyond my control!
Please, do not judge meThis is the last thing i need is someone to kick me when im down
some of you can really be so mean

Then I apologise and will edit my post. I know this is difficult and I was using you as an example of the way things can go wrong.

Thank you BrendanD. Its really tough atm, and Im getting more and more depressedand when people judge me for something is not true, it hurts. I feel ashamed and embarrassed to publicly humiliate myself, but I was grasping at helms for help
