MyBroadband built a functional gaming arcade using old electronics

The gamecon_gpio_rpi driver enables a direct connection of PlayStation 2 and other controllers to the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.

We soldered on some wires and installed the driver from the RetroPie setup menu, and quickly had a completely working controller.

Probably too late now, but you can take a connector from an old IDE cable and use that instead of soldering directly to the board.

Only thing rummaging in the old parts bin ever got me was a cut finger and a tetanus shot if we are being honest.
