MyBroadband Speed Test App launched

just tried downloading the app on my Samsung Galaxy S4 and it is incompatible with my device.
anyone else experiencing the same?

Nice app.

If you read more widely it's clear there are a lot of debates around the validity of speedtests so I hope that mybb will grow this app to ultimately allow some flexibility with the methodology used, otherwise the test won't be credible. The first issue is ISPs can see where mybb is sending the test and prioritise packets to those IP addresses.
 
I think what would be nice is if these speed testing apps / websites actually could test different protocols/services as well like torrents and streaming as examples. There are quite a few ISP's that make sure you won't see any issues on a speed test but as soon as you use other protocols everything goes to a crawl...
 
I downloaded the app to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 but when I ran test it returned results way lower than a test run using the Ookla Speed Test

That's because ISPs prioritise traffic going to speedtest.net giving people the illusion that their internet is fast and unshaped.
 
@rpm: Some fixes on the app privacy policy page:

1.) Child protection / Protecting children.
2.) Their consent, they should
3.) and we will / we'll remove this information...
4.) Using a secure connection
