MyBroadband speed test: New! Improved!

Just another confirmation that I don't nearly get the speed that I pay for. After screaming, shouting and threatening it will be better for a month or two and then degrade again. If you complain, you get moved to a less congested DSLAM, if not you have to suffer.

I have a 4Mb line:
Down: 1811Kbps
Up: 418kbps
Ping: 40ms

RPM, please add a function where you can test VOIP quality like jitter etc, etc. The old Iburst speedtest had that, unless someone can provide me with a locally hosted test that offers the same facility.

This is included in the new Ookla speed test software, but it requires Java, which is why we did not upgrade yet.

I've been busy with speedtests this afternoon and had all Ookla-based results; how will we know we're running the new speedtest? Or does this new summary display mean we are on the new one?

Thing is the speedtest test is never accurate, I get much better speeds in real life.

I've found on both my home and office PC's that if you run two consecutive tests without refreshing the page it bugs out a bit.

Running Google Chrome on Linux.

First I get this: (the image is just black)

Then when running the third test the black box just stays on top the whole time:

Anybody else getting this?
