MyCellC temporary password issues

So the poor maids son got mugged of his phone yesterday and I need to stop the SIM and start the whole painful process of getting a new one (again). The SIM is on my name as I took out a ControlChat 50 for him 4 yrs back.

Cool, so lets log in. Password no longer works, no problem, request temp password. Temp password arrives and keeps on failing. Portal gets locked for an hour, retry process. Again locked. Request new temp password. Again, account gets locked as password fails.

Did Alan Knott Craig use the same developer on the MyCellC portal as what he did on Vodacom customer portal - seems this way.

Same thing happened to me - I forgot about it after the first time it was locked.

Yes, I also tried yesterday. Can't get the password to be accepted.

I've had the same experience.

Their security is so good, it won't accept even valid passwords. lol

And the problems still continue. Going to cancel this contract now and move to another network - its anyway in month 23 of 24.

I reset my password to email, entered the code, and the reset pass got sent to my email (In OMGodly small font, might I add :p)

I copied / pasted into the password box, with no luck.
Attempted to manually type it in - No luck.
Attempted to manually type it in again (Those passwords are crazy - Might've gotten something wrong?) - Used a star revealer to make sure it was correct, and failed again.

Now the hour of waiting begins :p

@Reelix - yea 19 characters uppercase, lowercase and numbers. thats like 97 bazillion combinations and you only get 3 tries.
Lol - someone at Cell C obviously likes their new skills in security!

I got an Email form Cell C saying that because I'm on prepaid I dont need to log into MyAccount.
If thats true then why could I log in the first time and not again after that.
Also; WTH send me a password to MyAccount when I activated my SIM card :confused:

@Cell_C Rep: Thanks for responding to this thread. Please see if you can find out if theres a bug causing accounts to get perma locked.

Previously there was a "." behind the temp ($1Bil strength) password and YES prepaid users need /want to know how their money is consumed by cellc billing !!!

Who in cellc can PROPERLY answer a CDR billing query? WHO??
