Hi folks

We have designed a new gaming website which will focus solely on gaming and gaming hardware:

http://www.mygaming.co.za/news/

Please give your feedback and let us know if you find any bugs. Also let us know you would like to see on this site…

You should feel free to register so long as well –a few prizes (including an Xbox 360) will be given away in February on MyGaming. Details later :D

hmmm nice looking :)

...now where is my x360 :D

I don't like it too much rpm - the interface feels off / or not competing with MyBB's quality.... it looks too much like a pre-made blog type site thingy...

It might be that there is a banner INSIDE the top frame, where the site logo is - it works on MyBB, but doesn't look right on MyGaming. Otherwise, looks promising! it's just gotta grow into it's skin....

EDIT: Bug Found - when i'm on the PC Tab, the page title is simply called "PC", and not "MYGaming - PC"

The Profile page is a bit scew on FF3. :D

Edit: And why do you have to register twice?

I would like to see a download section for those big PC game demos and mods that are not available locally (like BF2 mods : Forgotten Hope 2, latest Project Reality, ...) :)

We are working on full integration, but so far it proved problematic. It integrates, but causes all kinds of problems with the news section :(

Are you going to transfer the current gaming sections of MyBB over there? or encourage us to post there?

Cool.

Is it tinman's "project'? Is this site hosted on the same server as the MyBB website?

That would be ideal, unfortunately right now it just doesn't seem possible. At this point, the aim is to grow the current forum and have it take on a life of its own.

Just a few things I've noticed:

1) The poll is lacking a question mark :P
2) It's a little annoying having to register and log in separately to the site and the site's forum

and Lycanthrope correctly said that the site needs a mini icon that gets displayed next to its name in one's browser tab/window/bookmark bar.

I second that - while activation only appears to be required once, it would be nice to have a single registration process. Otherwise it looks great :)

You mean a favicon?
I agree! I hate sites that don't have them. It's quicker to navigate multible bookmarks by the icons alone.

All in all it looks good, lots of potential

The site is ok,not great. I know its early days, but unfortunately first impressions are extremely important and most web users will not return to a website if it is average. Some suggestions for the site :

Be more innovative, you have taken what works and taken it over to mygaming, but
sometimes it takes more than that.

It looks a bit bubblegum/sugar/pop! I know this will not make sense to most but it looks more like a site for Disney than a gaming news.

I agree with wmaker,a download sections is needed using local cap.

Overall this could be SA's best gaming website, alot of effort is needed, but if they take the same knowledge from mybb then the site will be on my favorites list.

Plenty more can be said, but back to work for me.

Another suggestion - there's no option to remember your username/password credentials. That's usually pretty handy for people who frequent a site.
