N2 protesters throw petrol bombs at cops

@ bio

its the same in Philippi, Gugs, Khayaletsha, Delft south, Mfuleni, Wallacedene, Bloekombos the list goes on... The infrastructure is there. These people should go and see what its like in the EC, ANC is too busy fighting with itself to bother.

If I build a wendy-house on my property without permission, the council will have it demolished.

But it seems one can build a shack anywhere you like, no red-tape and on top of it demand that the local govt provide that illegal structure with water, plumbing and all related services.

Does this make any sense ?

What did they live in before they came here ?
what difference does that make? I'm pretty sure many were born here...
Did they protest about it in their area or did they realise nothing would be done and so moved here in the off-chance that the DA would be a softer touch ?
Are you seriously telling me you are unaware of the service delivery protests that have taken place around the country over the last few years, many of which have turned violent? Do you honestly believe people only protest here in the Cape :wtf:

Then protest to government, not the DA.
So what you're effectively saying is that the DA is useless and there is no point expecting them to do anything for the people living in their constituency? I hope the voters are listening...

I'm saying the DA does not dish out rdp houses - the ANC government has that authority.

How can they when they are hamstrung by National government?
Why would the ANC want these processes to run smoothly in the WC, they would gain nothing and further cement DA majority support.

So what do you think people should do? Find somewhere to go and quietly die so they are no longer a nuisance to you?

Die might be a bit harsh, stop breeding and spawning multitudes of mouths to feed if you don't have the capacity to educate, clothe and feed your offspring.

There is a reason I haven't had children yet.

There is a well known correlation between poverty and birth rate - and there are many reasons for this (I'm on my blackberry now but I can find links for you later when I get to a computer) - the best way to slow down population growth is education, employment and upliftment (including service delivery and housing)

And the ANC - who you are defending here - are intentionally preventing education....

You cannot give people wealth, you cannot give them a better life. You have to educate them, and let them uplift themselves. Of course you can help. But when National government hampers local government for self enrichment - you should not blame local government

Having to support your own children without relying on the state to provide for them will reduce the number of children families have as well.

Anyone notice the Police presence on the N2 this week? At least 20 Police cars parked on the township side of the N2 all the way past the airport.
