Hi all,

Time for an upgrade and not sure what to get Nokia N81 or Samsung G800.
The n-gage is a plus on the N81 but camera a downer. Don't really know that much about G800.

All advice and opinions appreciated .

Thanks.

Well based purely on the brands, the Samsung (in my opinion) is a no-no. Maybe it'd be worth waiting a while for the N82's price to come down (if you're a die-hard Nokia fan), or even the Sony Ericsson W960i (if you're not)

Thanks - it is a work phone upgrade and I am not a fan of the HTC Touch as the wife had 1 so the only options left are N81/G800.

HTC Touch will drive you mad with no keypad. I'm a staunch Nokia supporter, so i'd tell you to go for the N81. Is N95 8GB not an option?

I had a similar choice, ended up going for the Navigator. All the features you want (HSDPA, GPS, Symbian 9.2, very nice keypad etc)

Samsung are shiit fullstop, the camera may be good but the phones fischer price OS will drive you mad. The N81s main problem is its keypad, also many people report it being very unstable.

I just ordered me a HTC Touch, it a very nice business phone, no keypad should not be a problem, it has handwriting recognition, which is quicker than a keypad, and it saves your fingers from wear.
I am a die-hard Nokia fan but after 8 different Nokia's, I need a change and decide, the price of top Nokia's are way over priced.

The N82 is a good choice.

N95 is an option if i pay R500.00 so if it is that much of a better phone than the rest think i will go for it.
Thanks to all for the assistance.

The N95 still over priced. I wanted one but it's too damn expensive.

if the N95 is only R500 pay-in, then how bout N82?

Why didnt you get the Touch Dual?

The screen is smaller.1st let down:(, the price 2nd major let down.
BUT lots of plus on the Touch Dual, 3g, qwerty keyboard and I wouldn't wait that long for it, no stock.

N82 = R1499 pay in......a bit too much at the moment for me....not sure why though.....

N82 has a higher pay-in than N95? Something's not right... QUICK! GET THE N95!!! :D

Definitely get the N95 8GB then. R500 isn't that bad, considering you getting GPS with South African Maps available, HSDPA, 5MP Camera, Wifi and loads more....

Software is VERY stable, much better than older N95.

mm.,... what provider you with? I got my N82 the week it was released with a 500 pay in via autopage, and i see that it is free on some MTN adverts?

The company with MTN and it some special package they receive for lower call rates so not always the best phones are available to us but hey no complaints on lower call rates :D
