N82 firmware update

hi guys i wanna update the firmware on my N82, my service provider says it will take 3 to 4weeks is there anyway i can do this some other way?

AFAIK there are two legal ways. Use the OTA procedure (*#000#) and select "check for updates"
OR
Use the Nokia updater via PC Suite.

It shouldn't take as long as an hour.

I think he means the download. It's about 120 megs.

Nokia updater is not working on my work pc (blocked i think) and i dont have a home pc :-(

Can't you use a friend's PC? Afaik you can't just download the update, your phone has to be connected to the PC/internet.
