Is R2500 too much too pay-in for a N82 with an upgrade on an Weekender Plus Everyday with Vodacom, my subscription is R135 a month?
THANKS

I paid-in R1200 (incl) on Talk240

On Weekender you can get the 6110 Nav (or 6120 Nav if it's available) for free.

What is so special about the N82 anyway?? For R2500 you could most likely get the HTC Diamond....And to my knowledge beats seven shades of sausage out of the N82.

well, 2 months ago the guy told me R4000 and this month its R2500, so lets wait and see whats its at next month.
Im willing to pay R1000.

I thought the same thing for months, but Vodacom's prices fluctuate. So you can't be sure that next month it will in fact be cheaper (look at W960i, W890i, etc). Port to MTN and get the phone for next to nothing :D

Looking at it another way:
1) How much do you actually use your free minutes? If you don't use it all that much (and instead make peak-time calls), consider moving to Business Talk, because R1000 over 24 months works out to a little less than R42 per month. So say R45 (to make things even). R135 + R45 = R180 ~ cost of Business Talk (where you would get a much better deal on the phone).
2) The Weekender package is, IMO, a waste of time for most people these days. The reason I say that is because you don't get any really good benefits. It used to be that you got half-decent phones on the contract, but that's just no longer the case. I don't know whether it's Vodacom that's scoring or the price of phones has gone up THAT MUCH, but that's how it stands.
3) MTN contracts offer better phones on contracts that cost the same.
4) If you don't mind putting up with porting your number (about a week's worth of pulling out your hair), once it goes through, life is good.
5) My experience with MTN has been good so far (ported over to them from Vodacom Weekender this month).

Excellent... Getting more used to it every day. Texting is fast becoming as easy as on my previous phone :D

R2500/24=104....+135= R240/Month maybe you can find a more decent package and score mre free minutes?

N82 rocks. Do not let others tell you any different.

On procall 120 you can have it for R309.00/Month

Inclusive of Garmin with 2 years guidance dsubsription.

Same with Nokia N95 * Gig

The N82 doesn't come standard with Garmin
...but this can be easily rectified.

It comes with Nokia Maps.

I got my N82 a month ago on Vodacom. It comes with Nokia Maps pre-loaded and the subscription is activated via a internet connection. I had to load Garmin on my own (MUCH better than Nokia Maps).

It's possible, although unlikely, than MTN have a different package. All I'm saying is, make sure before you base your decision on Garmin alone.

EDIT: The Nokia Maps activation is free-of-charge. BTW.

IS the voice guidance free, not when I last checked. i also use Grmin on two phones so know all about it. In fact I instigated the whole affair. I think.

Anyway i will check with the guy and come back as I specifically asked if it was Nokia maps and they said no it is Garmin. Will feed back if anything changes.

i got the same problem here my Vodacom Wkend contract is over and i want to ugrd to the 120 package but they still want i must pay in R1000 for the N82 or R2400 for the n95 8g . The 120 package is R300 pm but from italk i can get the n95 8g for 350 pm on there mnt 120 package. I'm seriously considering changeing networks.

The Nokia maps voice guidance is free. I got my N82 in March this year with MTN. I paid in R400 on a procall 120 costing me R309/month.

Whats really funny is that the N95 8Gb costs an extra R1,500 on a Talk 500 contract, but iTalk (MTN) are giving it free on a procall 120.

I'm just waiting for my contract to expire so I can migrate to iTalk.

Italk is still the best in 90% of all deals. Ditto. With them for years now.
