N95 at Vodacom - Crooks!

Vodacom have had the N95 on the same package for as long i can remember:

R1499 pay in on a Talk 500 at R800 a month.

Surely the price of this handset has dropped, its almost gonna be a year in march since that phone was launched!

the R 800.00 bucks you pay is for your 500 minutes ...
 
Mmmm its still the top of the range phone, nothing better at the moment, its selling well, why drop the price?

I know for procall 120 at R400 per month its free with MTN.

And thats my point exactly, Vodacom hasn't dropped their price on the unit the crooks, they just milking everybody for a phone that is a year old.

Would you buy a pc today (or almost any electronic device) thats a year on the market for the exact same price it was launched at?

Also the N95 is not top of the range, the N95 8Gb and E90 tops it in the nokia range.

Thank goodness for the ability to port.

I agree with this guy.

For an N95 without the 8GB, that is a crazy price and needs to be changed asap.
 
iTALK have the N95 for R394 per month and no pay in. Good deal. Just waiting for iTalk to get the 8gb version.

8gb is pretty much enough for a cellphone and beside you can transfer data via bluetooth or usb cable, don't need a cardslot.

...and when the phone "crashes" or packs up and your 8Gb of data is on the phone and not in a removable slot?

Forget the 8Gb, its got more RAM and better battery life and a bigger screen.

For the extra ram and better life, i think it definitely better then the standard N95.

Whether 8Gb is enough or not, depends on an individual user.

Real problem with the 8Gb devices is the fact that the memory is very slow, and you are looking at USB 1.0 transfer speeds (even though the interface is USB 2.0). This means ~3hrs to fill up 8Gb - not acceptable.
 
My Vodacom days are almost over, contract ends on the 8 Feb.

Where is currently the best place for getting hold of the N95 8GB?
The web is surprisingly limited in it's ability to buy a phone.

For N95 8Gb, best i have seen is from MTN, ProCall 120 at R309 per month with a R2199 pay in!!! Yeah, still quite expensive.

If anybody else knows of any better deals, please let us know. Thanks
 
If supply is less than demand then they'll keep the price high.

Should demand fall below supply levels, then prices will drop.

So therefore everybody will have to wait for three months and the price will come down :D
