ok.. so does anyone know the release dates for the N96?

i mean i dont even know when its gonna be released in europe much less here..

tho i would love to get my hands on that 16GB monster :)

any ideas on what the pricing could be like??

That phone looks SICK!

Only thing that put me off it instantly is that it looks exactly like the N81 which I have never really been a big fan of - surely they could have made it look a bit nicer. On the inside though that is on sick phone!! ;)

the phone is out in euro around October - as per nokia website. see gsmarena.com under N96 review. must say I'm eagerly awaiting it - been comparing it to iPhone & there are just too many missing things on the i for me to bother.

Lol.... Symbian?? Never!!!:D

options a lil limited in the smart device arena aren't they? i used to have an n80 & that had terrible hang up probs. but my lady has moved to s710 & i ain't impressed with the slow speeds plus its from msloss...

Quite right, there are only a handful of options, but with WM 6.1 who needs symbian! :D

The S710 is not know for it's speed, its actually a rather sluggish device, the newer upcoming Smart phones will most definitely be faster and more stable than the likes of the S710.

My phone currently has a:

192 MB DDR SDRAM, 256 MB ROM
Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 Mhz processor

It has its sluggish moments but its quite rare!:)

And dats a sexy phone you got! :D Mine just arrived, I seem to have come down with something and may need a few days off work :D ;)

I'm pretty excited about this N96 too but I dare say Nokia SA may have missed a trick. Surely they should have launched the N96 in time to lure potential customers away from the glorious Diamond (so aptly named IMO)??! Perhaps Nokia have already conceded defeat on this one....

Doubt it, if you look closely, you'll see the N-96 has DVB-H, as per my SACM subscription of last month, that means you can watch Television (DSTV) on your phone, don't think the diamond has that option.

They'll market it differently I reckon ;)

Agreed, nice feature that. I would suspect it could be costly though, watching DSTV via the phone, or is a standard monthly subscription?

As far as I read, it's included if you have the Premium Bouquet. I'll have to read that part again in the SACM (they reviewed a Samsung phone) ;)

tv on phone?

frankly i don't have a need to watch tv on a phone? or even video for that matter. guess sum folks find all these trinkets exciting...
