N97 Firmware ver 2.0 ( Preview )

Are there any decent specials out at the moment for this contract?

Yo,

Just got my N97 this week, on MTN on contract, but I cannot update the firmware, says v10... is the latest.

Can anyone help me on how to get the latest firmware on the N97? Really looking forward to v2... though :)

An update of product code will get you the V12 upgrade. The one I have is an MTN product code that updates to V12....My nephew also has an MTN one but its was like yours...stuck on V10. Needless to say we changed his product code to the same as mine and he is now on MTN V12 software!

Incidently, I dont know how people can stay on V10.......GEES V10 on the N97 is a mess!!!

So how do you change the product code? Would really like to know as I'm also stuck on V10..
 
Those of u stuck on V10, i am about to hand mine in at Vodacare at 9:00. They can at least upgrade it to V11....

Still do not understand why it is not available through the software upgrade...

Planning to take the big step and change my Vodacom handset's product code this weekend. I can't live with this crappy phone one week longer and Vodacom seems unwilling to make any firmware updates available (this is my last Nokia and last Vodacom phone as I have stated before).

Just as a back-up. If you really want the N97 and want to save money and is due for an upgrade - please PM me. I want the HTC Hero. Pick the Hero as your replacement phone and I will swop you my N97. I will continue paying the extra monthly premium and pay you R1500 cash as well. Seriously - PM me on Monday morning.

I have contemplated changing my product code for a while and decided to do so as well.

Just one question - is the 1 year free Maps subscription still valid after the change?

Thanks so much again for the info. Need to inform you though both the links are dead. Followed graytg's links and it worked. I'm on MTN and had the same problem. Phone said I had latest software but I was stuck on V10. Do you think it is a good idea to change the product code back, because of the warranty?
