Can you imagine the sh#tstorm if Anglo or Nick's Deli fired an employee simply for being arrested for some or other crime. The unions, EFF and other mobs would be falling over themselves to loot & burn property all over the country.

I have lost count of all the comrades who have been charged with various crimes, including sexual assault, and continue drawing salaries indefinitely.

When he complains to the the CCMA it will be interesting to see if he gets a year's salary.

I always thought the ANC wasn't above the odd heist for petty cash & drinking money so perhaps he was thrown under the bus for being caught.

2 guys were fired for falsely accusing a white man of racism at a large company in MP few years ago. Nothing happened.

Ironically, the man was fired for racism years later.

Silly me

The farm came their way in 2012 allegedly after intervention by former land reform minister, Gugile Nkwinti.

Nkwinti had allegedly introduced Present to a deputy director general in the department, Vusi Mahlangu, at a land summit. Eight months later, the deal was sealed – along with a R30m bankroll for salaries and infrastructure development for the farm.

But by March 2016 the farm Bekendvlei, was run down and 3 000 head of cattle, valued at about R18m, were gone.

Machinery had also disappeared and just five months after Present and Boshomane took over the farm, workers stopped receiving salaries.

Mahlangu was later fired for his involvement and a draft report by Deloitte, dated May 2016 recommended that Nkwinti be charged for possible corruption.

The final report did not mention the minister or his involvement, it emerged later. Nkwinti reportedly spoke at Present's lavish wedding a day after the deal was finalised

Axed ANC heist accused denied access to docket

Axed ANC employee Errol Velile Present and three co-accused arrested after a cash-in-transit heist in Soweto have failed in their bid to get access to the police docket.

Lawyers for the four argued before the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court that they could not adequately prepare for their bail application without having access to the docket‚ something they likened to entering a fighting ring blindfolded.

Axed alleged ANC heist man’s co-accused claims police torture

One of the men arrested alongside axed ANC branch secretary Errol Velile Present, in connection with a Soweto cash heist, on Friday took the stand‚ where he alleged the group were beaten by police who accused them of the crime.

“They kept on moving around with us around the location‚” said Zakhele Zondi‚ recalling the evening that he was arrested and removed from the Diepkloof home that he shared with his girlfriend.

“They were busy assaulting us until the morning‚” Zondi added.

The state has no case against me‚ says alleged ANC heist man’s co-accused

One of the men arrested alongside axed ANC branch secretary Errol Velile Present on Friday told the court that the State‚ which alleged they had committed a cash heist‚ had no case against him.

During a bid to be granted bail bid before the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court‚ Zakhele Zondi said that no finger prints were lifted from the vehicles he and his co-accused were alleged to have used in carrying out the heist.

And the four guards who the money was taken from had reportedly failed to point him out during an identity parade.

Is there some reasoning behind your belief that makes sense at least? I wonder why anyone would leave free millions to be stolen through corrupt business activities and go involve themselves in cash in transit heists?

Surprised he doesn't mention businessmen as likely suspects as well. Many aren't known for their ethics.
