Hey guys, allow me to introduce you to the NAG OC Workshop in collaboration with rAge LAN. All you need to do to enter is validate a 3DMark11 or 3DMark 2013 score on HWBOT or 3DMark.com, then drop an email to [email protected] with the following information:

  • Name and Surname
  • Username
  • Validation link to your score on HWBOT or 3DMark.com
Once you have submitted a score you will be eligible for the live sessions held at rAge LAN, Stand 80. All hardware for the benching rigs will be identical and will be supplied at the NAG OC Workshop, making this a battle of skill. The benchmarks run at the event will be 3DMark Firestrike and Intel XTU, so start honing your skills now. There will be three elimination rounds on Friday 9th October, three rounds on Saturday 10th October and one round on Sunday 11th October. The winners of each round will then compete head-to-head in the finals, which will also be held on Sunday 11th October. The winner will take home R 15,000 worth of prizes!

I won't :( Neo asked if I could be the announcer, but I can't make it at all. By the way, I wanted to post this over on NAG forums as well, but I can't start a thread until I have 20 posts and I'm not going to spam my way there.

I'll have something up about this next week, despair not!

I will admit though, it would also have been much more interesting to see your machine on the stand running something like a VR sim with benching and folding and rendering in the background. xD

OK sweet, if Neo doesn't get round to it (he's hellishly busy) you can do a direct copy paste of my post.

Oh hell no my rig would never go with. Do you have any idea what it weighs? :( Not only that, but half of SA would love to own it via some... Affirmative shopping :p

Uh, as for speed, the best I can tell you around a year ago (just before Haswell-E's launch) Neo and I ran Cinebench 11.5, me with my old E5645s at 3.66 GHz and him with a Core i7-5960X at 4.11 GHz. I got 22.04 points and he got ~19.00. That puts my rig at around 6 points/GHz clock speed and Haswell-E at around 4.6 points/GHz - at 4.11 GHz I'd get a projected ~24.70, or about a third quicker. I'm guessing this setup is going to last me all the way past Skylake-E - kinda boring :o

If I could make it I would've been involved, but such is life :/ Anyway, I've dragged this waaaay off topic xD
