Hi all.

Looking for some ideas here. I switched from Outsurance a year ago over to Naked Insurance.

Outsurance were charging me a bit too much for many years and almost everyone was offering me a better deal.

I'm now planning to do a trip to Namibia which will involve quite a bit of offroading. Since its also out of the country, I'll likely need a separate liability cover.

Any ideas who i can use who will provide liability cover and cover offroading without me having to cancel with Naked Insurance?

Out in Africa by Outsurance looks ideal but I assume it requires i also use them for comprehensive cover

Have you spoken to Naked?

Perhaps they could recommend something.

You can try Tuffstuff by Ream.

How is Naked apart from the issue above?
I'm thinking about switching from fnb as they're expensive and their support sucks.

It's average, I would say, nothing amazing that sets them apart I think. Pricing is not bad.

The app is nice, so you don't have to talk to script readers.
Claimed a geyser twice, I think. No real issues.

I think my current Naked premium is about R4.5k for a couple of buildings and household contents, oh, and a few stationary cars.

Use TuffStuff while you are overlanding, then revert to Naked upon your return?

With Naked you can pause your cover as well, although I guess this depends on how long you will be away for.

That's a good idea

my general experience with Naked has been horrific lack of coordination and urgency come claim time, they paid every time at least, but it took forever to get anything done

for example:

Anyone know whether you can easily check the value a car is insured for on the Naked app?
