Name & Shame Thread

Hi guys,

Whats your thoughts on starting a name & shame type thread or maybe a web site where people can upload pictures of drivers doing stupid stuff (even illegal stuff) on the road.

Traffic department seems to like proving to us (with pictures) that we did X and Y so I don't see why we can't show them what drivers are doing.

I have a friend in the TD who said she'd gladly pass the 'thread url' or 'web url' onto the higher ups to look at.

I have a couple of photos of taxi's catching on kark! I even have a movie or 2 to share.

We've seen in the past that a thread on MyBB can get attention from the right people if done properly.

Comments/thoughts?
 
I've seen one or websites like this before. Are you trying to make a thread longer than the threadkiller?? Most of the time I see people doing stupid stuff it kinda passes too quickly or isn't convenient to take a photo.

Just a thought I wanted to share...
 
Its more dangerous trying to take pics of a driver doing something stupid. Besides it happens so fast, not sure how you would do it.

Exactly, such as when you are driving which is what I fear a thread like this would encourage.

Traffic department couldn't do squat with the "evidence" anyway.
 
I was sitting in traffic the other day, while I was in traffic, taxi's were flying down over yellow / red lines and pushing into traffic and almost causing crashes (you know how they FORCE their way in) so I had a nice time snapping photos. :D

As long as you weren't behind the wheel that's fine.
 
I've often been tempted to strap a GoPro HD camera on/in my bumper to catch the stupid **** I see on the roads but it's quite a bit of money for something that won't accomplish anything. Assuming you wire it to the vehicle's battery you could get about 4.5 hours at 1080p. I wonder if it could automatically overwrite in a loop, probably not. That would be convenient because then when something happens that you actually want you just take the card out and copy from it.

I guess you could still capture their car and share your story about their transgression anyway.

Anyway I think that there is already a thread somewhere about shaming bad drivers.
 
These middle-aged women in their husbands' SUV on the cell phone...one hand driving.....why are they not fined...I was almost run over twice by such idiots on my bike.....one in a ML500 and another in a Discovery.....then they look at you angrily while STILL on the mobile phone.....:mad:
 
good idea but in my area it would have to be video as I wont be quick enough taking pictures of all the stupid things people do maybe i can use my webcam and video stream everything.
 
That's a bit cheaper than the GoPro bundles. The "naked" GoPro is cheaper though. Dash is probably not a bad place to mount it though. Gives a similar view to yours. I suppose ideal with a gopro might be behind the rear view mirror.
 
I think all cars should be fitted with cameras, would make life so much easier when proving that the prick that hit was actually in the wrong :D
 
I usually take pics of the *********s that park in diabled bays with Luxury cars and SUV's. Wife always deletes them off my phone after a day or two though. Would love a place to post them.

I want to find a wide angle lense dashboard camera I have seen some pretty bad Taxi BS from time to time they should all die. All of them.
 
Something much better would be if you spot a car missing one number plate to take picture of both the front and back and report it.
