Do you think it is safe to complain in South African food venues?

I have a Health inspector friend here in East London and we only eat at the places she audits. They fear her so we always get top notch service with correct orders. :D (oh and free drinks at times. :p)

But you're right flatty...My older brother worked at a Spur and told me all about their ways and means of messing with people's food. I'm quite lucky though that I never needed to send food back. Then again I eat what I get (well unless it has some spit or something on it, then I'd make a moerse scene)

They normally only spit on it if you send it back! :p
 
If I complain, I don't go back. Nandos in Sea Point is terrible. Last time I was there I asked for my money back after having been told 3 times it will be 10 more minutes and seeing them only put my order on the grill 45 minutes after I had placed my order. They gave me my money back with a little bit of fuss and I couldn't give a rat's arse if they pissed on my order. Won't be back there.
 
This is why I don't like eating at places where you can't see the kitchen, or people cooking the food.

When I eat out I prefer to be in an upper class restaurant or if its lower I'd like to be able to see what they are doing with my food.

I was at CTFM the other day and sat at a table where I could see the kitchen staff (they have an open wall in between the dining area and kitchen).

I had a plateful of sushi as a starter then I went on to have their calamari and fillet of fish... then I had a warm brownie dripping with chocolate sauce and ice-cream....... I hate this thread. Made me hungry!
 
When I was in the UK a kfc was closed down for a while cus some chump was putting his 'happy ending' in the mayo,serious.Stopped eating kfc after that.
