Hey guys,

If you ever need a wireless bridge to connect two buildings or anything I would recommend these NanoStation M2's. Got me a pair today to connect my house with my office connection. Took 5 minutes, Im getting 165Mbps between the 2 sites and its about 1.2kms.

Dude I love these!

And for those wondering max range is 14km with a transmit rate of 1Mbps and the best is it costs only R500 per station.

Another guy quoted me 3k just for hardware and then I had to pay about 2k on labor.

Nice one, man! Well done for doing it yourself.
I'm learning quickly about wireless equipment as well, from the WUG forums etc.

The problem with your Loco's is they have a very wide beam width, and being on the popular 2,4GHz range you'll be creating a lot of unnecessary noise for your neighbour's adsl routers.
It would be more considerate for you to change to devices with a more focused beam, and perhaps on the less populated 5GHz range.
But as the saying goes, what they don't know won't hurt them. Heh.
Keep up the experimenting though. Wireless is really interesting!!

Thanks man.

I too am very interested in the whole wireless "EXPERIENCE". It amazes me the range and throughput one gets out of thin air. hehe.

lot of unnecessary noise for your neighbour's adsl router

I did think about that, but seeing as the nearest neighbor is about 500m away and the nearest active ADSL connection is about 4km's away I doubt that would be a problem.
