I've just bought a NAS GS310S drive from Mustek, but the damn thing doesn't work with Win 7. Basically I can access the admin page via web browser by entering the IP and then using the admin login. But when i try to browse the drive via file explorer it asks for the username and password. Now default that is Guest and no password, but Win 7 insists on a PW. So i created one and still nada. Doesn't accept it.

If I do the same thing on a Win XP machine, this runs with zero hassle. Works perfectly.

Also, it has a USB port on the back, can I hook up a printer to share it that way? And how would I do that?

Do you have an antivirus firewall on the win7 machine? That might be causing the issues

Tried it on 2 different PCS with Win 7 as well. No joy. And thats not it, because it see the drive. But when you dbl click to browse it asks for user and PW as XP does.
Only diff is XP accepts username and no password, but with Win 7 you must enter a password. The ok/continue button stays greyed out until you type something in the password block.

Hmm, i have that exact same unit and dont have an issue accessing it from windows 7.

maybe create a new username/password and give that user rights via the admin (use teh windows admin utility, perhaps on your windows XP machine).

I do know that the admin utility does not work with windows 7, but the web admin still does (as you know).

Did you not receive a cd with the nas drive? lol!

I have the ns349 which is the same device, i think yours is the newer one, possibly newer firmware. Drop me a pm with your email and tonight i will look see and send you admin utility.

but off the bat, have you tried creating a new username/password? I think thats what i did to get mine to play nice.

I am using windows 7 enterprise, but it worked when i was using ultimate also (ent/ultimate are the same except ent has some cooler goodies).
