Naspers hammered on Tencent

Shares in listed media and internet giant, Naspers declined in afternoon trade on the JSE on Monday, as its investment in Chinese Internet firm Tencent, continued to weigh.

I've been saying this for a long time now - their exposure to Tencent is far higher than they've let on, especially with investors. One of their auditors let slip to me about it and it was an eye-opener...

I hope, for personal reasons, that Naspers get a trashing they will remember for decades to come....

Are you saying they own more shares of tencent than they say they own?

Naspers not letting on their exposure to investors ... who'd have thought ...

Of course the fact that a 44 billion dollar company in SA that is unable to take on a sub 2 billion company without being a bunch of pansies

I hope NPN gets a beating ,so I can laugh at Coronation for having so many momentum stocks in their portfolios and them making out as if they doing all the hard smart work ,where in fact the market just keeps on running like NPN has

No. I'm saying that their revenue from Tencent is accounted for...um...interestingly...

Sorry, I'm not really clued up on investing language. Can you say what you're saying in simple terms even I could understand?
What does 'their exposure to Tencent is far higher than they've let on, especially with investors' actually mean (in terms of revenue from tencent)?

I can't without making some serious allegations that I'd rather not do. There's enough in my two posts to infer what I'm getting at. Not being rude. I'm just not about to put the job of a friend on the line, nor risk court action against myself...

And one would not want to fsck with Naspers  - I also think that Tencent and it's various investments are overvalued. Lucky for most local investors is the currently super high USD->ZAR exchange rate - time to cash out...
