Hi all (yeah, you too rpm) [:D]

I would like to use this forum for Natal South Coast users to indicate whether they would like to enjoy the services of ADSL.

It was told to me, by an informed source, that if there is sufficient demand, speedy installations could be done. (Excuse all puns on "speedy" [:p]

Presumably the service will be much better by then [?]

Looking forward to seeing some postings.

Which Natal places are included in the South Coast? Everything south of Durban? Durban included?

*spam* rpm etc [}:)]

Hi syntaX and beyers

South Coast includes all places from Amanzimtoti through Port Shepstone, Margate, Shelley Beach and surrounding areas.

There must be hundreds or thousands of people there who would like to have broadband internet. How to find those people?

One must look for them on newsgroups etc, maybe, since it is unlikely that they will be on this forum, since they are not part of the adsl community yet.

In my humble opinion, people from the South Coast or any place in South Africa who are interested in broadband technology are more likely to find a forum like this than be found in a newsgroup.

As a matter of fact, I dont have ADSL as I am from the aforementioned Natal South Coast.

Hope that is the case with more users...

YES - for Toti

It'd be great to even get a decent 3G signal in Toti. I live in Doonside and have had endless trouble with the Voda datacard - despite the fact that I have 3 towers in view and I'm only about 20 mins from the airport.

After months of logging complaint calls because of lack of connection, ending-connections all the time etc. etc. I was finally told to buy and install an external antenna. This I got in Pinetown and its inceased my 3G signal to a total of 3 bars (which is great but, unfortunately, does not stop the signal interruptions which cut my connection 20+ times a day)

ADSL is a must for me and I'm sure a lot of us on the South Coast. Best the service is offered soon! As soon as my 2 yr contract is up with this datacard I'm in - that is, if I last that long!

i'm originally from toti, i've had friends that had DSL there, why not just get DSL, or does Doonside have a different exchange than Toti central ?

Didn't Peapod succeed in getting Telscum to provide ADSL on KZN north coast? Maybe you could send a PM to Peapod and ask her how she went about this.

MArgate DSL

HI all just found this thread and need some sugestion My mother lives in Margate I was wondering if anyone can help me or know of a DSL Provider in Margate that is cheap enough or that does not require a phone line.

there is an aggressive rollout planned by Thinta Thinta, the under serviced area licencee (USAL) for the area - fixed wireless broadband services will be part of the package...not sure of the pricing but afaik will be a very competitive service

//i appreciate that wireless may not be for everyone...
