New Orleans residents flee storm
New Orleans residents have been fleeing in their thousands after the city's mayor ordered an evacuation ahead of Hurricane Gustav's expected landfall.
Roads out of the Louisiana port have been crammed with traffic and authorities have been helping those unable to leave by their own means.
Gustav, set to hit the US Gulf Coast on Monday, was described by Mayor Ray Nagin as "the storm of the century".

South-west China hit by new quake
An earthquake in south-western China has killed 22 people and injured more than 100, state media says.
The 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck at 1630 local time (0730 GMT), close to the town of Panzhihua in Sichuan province, near the border with Yunnan.
Xinhua news agency reported that attempts to assist survivors were being hampered by heavy rain.
Both provinces were severely affected by a devastating earthquake in May which left almost 70,000 people dead.

New flood relief efforts in Bihar
Relief efforts are increasing in the Indian state of Bihar, hit by some of the worst flooding in years.
Authorities say they have so far rescued more than 300,000 people left stranded after heavy monsoon rains caused the Kosi river to flood.
However, more than twice that number are still homeless and in urgent need of aid, and relief is being hampered by extensive damage to roads.
The forecast is for more rain in the coming days and the continuing bad weather is hampering efforts to get aid to about 2.5 million people who have been displaced.
