Hey everyone,
i know it's a *****ty topic to discuss but i seriously am gonna go nuts if i live like this forever. I think for the last few years i haven't been able to do the number 2 naturally.
I get enough exercise, eat a hi fibre cereal in the morning and drink water aswell during the day.Still i just have periods of 3-4 days without any relief.

I've read online about all the wonderful laxatives etc. Now i'm hoping some of you guys can talk from personal experience and recommend a good OTC natural laxative or any fruit/food that will get me friendlier with my toilet seat. Does anyone know where i can purchase flax seed as it is suggested in many tips/advice on forums.

I know this is a k@k topic to discuss but i'm just looking for some help :o

Flax seed from Disc-chem in cool standing-up re-sealable plastics.

guess it might depend on your body's system, but I have always found that eating a decent amount of raisins or grapes will make me go to the toilet.

Milo cereal. It has unexpected consequences. ;)

Horrible stuff, gives you cold sweat contractions but when you get to the toilet.. nothing. I chow choc bits, doesn't take as long to eat as muesli but keeps me just as regular.

Bitter crystals.

use duphalac dry sachets on a daily basis. non habit forming and will retrain your bowels to work normally. can be continued indefinitely if needed.
for instant relief, get a few movicol sachets to start.

I eat muesli in the morning, white bread with fiber for lunch, and two pieces of fruit throughout the day, as well as veggies at night, and still, um, battle sometimes. I do have laxatives (movicol) which help, but dont like taking them too often.

Pretty irritating.

I remember Movicol helping when i had a different issue last year but i was prescribed it. My only concern is the amount of horror stories i've read about ppl becoming dependant on them which sounds terrible.I mean i just want to do the natural thing the natural way :(

Natural coconut... the juice and the actual coconut meat.
Vitamin C in excess of 1000 Mg a day will also make your tummy work.

Just log on to the ANCYL website and read the "enlightened" comments there.

Makes me want to have an anal evacuation every time. :D Well the times when I can make sense of the grade 2 Mxit-spelling anyways.

1.yes OTC

2. movicol is safe. note i said a few sachets to kick start then continue with duphalac dry sprinkled on your cereal if you wish.

3. not sure about flaxseed - no harm in trying. has other benefits as well with the high omega content.

Most dried fruits should work. I think its the sulfur based preservatives that are intended to maintain the colour, but not sure.

There is a much easier and more *correct* solution though: Cut diuretics (Coffee, booze etc )& increase water intake.

There is an Indian seed called Jamalgota, that is quite deadly. Apparently 4 seeds can kill a human, so half a seed should easily unclog the pipes :D

Wow this made me remember a story a friend told me about 'Jamal'.
Haha he said in high school his friends pranked a few guys by buying them a pizza and sprinking Jamal on it. The guy was apparently parked on the toilet for almost 3 days. He thought he was honestly going to die and even requested for his parents to write his will out.I'l consider it as a last resort. :D
