Hi Folks

I have just received a call from Solidariteit and they are in need of a telecommunications expert with a good knowledge of both Telkom and the South African Telecommunications industry. This person will consult with Solidariteit directly and will have the option of remaining anonymous throughout the investigation/consulting process. If you are knowledgeable in this field please either email Dirk ([email protected]) or myself ([email protected]).

Regards,

Podo comes to mind.

BTTB,

I've sent RPM an e-mail about it. If it is in regard to the proposed job cuts, I'm not sure if I could be of much help, since economics isn't really my field, but if they need technical info, I'll do what I can.

Hehe. I knew you were up to the challenge.

The correct thing to do would be to appoint a recognised expert in the field, with all due respects to PODO. What I'm referring to here is the need to appoint someone with the credentials needed - and I'm not talking here about technical competency, but political and academic standing, which will carry far more weight in this regard. RPM, I suggest you advise the union to contact Professor Bill Melody via the LINK Centre at Wits...

I heard on the news Solidariteit strucked a deal with www.hellkom.co.za. Could not hear the detail of said deal.
