Nedbank or FNB

Ok! seems like a lot of FNB fans - I agree it is a great bank. Obviously some people will have had issues thats unavoidable, but the happy customers seem extremely happy. Any Nedbank fans out there? To me Nedbank does seem much cheaper though - its in the little things - on the PRB account you get mailed a statement each month and you get a free branch statement per month - FNB on the other hand charges R13 per page for bank statements for their platinum accounts even! Nedbank charges 1.75% for currency conversion, FNB 2.75%..

4 months later so not sure which you signed up for, but I find that Nedbank is willing to help a bit more easily than the others. All personal opinion of course but also see what works out better in terms of ATM ease. The young Professionals account from Nedbank gives you platinum cards and also a discount for AMEX if you need it, as well as covering a car for 400k and a house for up to 1.5 bar. It seems rather good to me. I have been with Nedbank for a while now and no problems apart from some card issues.

I left FNB Premier for Nedbank PRB because in my personal experience, platinum means nothing at FNB, you still have to queue hours in branches while Nedbank does have PRB specific branches where the queue is severely reduced and their helpline has been way more efficient for me than FNB Premier's one.

FNB has a lot to offer. It all depends on what you want from a bank

Remember the following topics:

Fees
Bonds
Rewards
Day to day
Investing

I just decided to make the change from FNB PB to Nedbank, am I making a mistake?

Got the Nedbank Plat young professionals, and I must say I am really impressed. If you need anything, and I mean anything at all just email the banker. They do everything for you, no waiting in lines at the bank etc. Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better than Standard bank. I also have a Capitec acc, also very good. Works how its suppose to and its cheap.

I just came from Nedbank over to FNB and regardless of the accounts the biggest issue is that Nedbank's internet banking and Smartphone apps are both from the Stone Age.

Private banker you only need once in a blue moon, the Internet banking you need every other day...so you know where I'm staying.

With Nedbank I also constantly got the sense that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Most recently being called about getting my new cars...for an account I closed a few months ago already.

I'm biased to FNB

Thing is that once you are with them it is very easy to get access to their other products and benefits. You'll want these later on when you earn more. As far as car loans go - WesBank

This is why I'm with FNB.
