Nedbank or FNB

I have both and I love FNB. Nedbanks online banking is lacking in many features and their service is good but not amazing. What really irritates me about Nedbank is how sparse their ATMs are, really, they have so few that in a jam when you need cash you end up using another banks ATM.

FNB does have its gripes such as high bank fees and their products don't offer much more than any other banks but their push towards using only the app or ATM banking means you can do so much without going into a branch.

I'd still say if you wanted cheap banking, go Capitec. Avoid ABSA though.

The problem is that I have been experiencing the same problem with the Young Professionals Account. Every time I get to a decent level on eBucks say level 3 or 4 I suddenly do not earn enough and then I have to run after the bank for them to change it and I have done so three times. Every time they seem to have misplace my degree the lady even told me they do not have a Mechanical Engineering option for their attachments.

I sent Premier Suite an email and they replied FOUR DAYS later with an automated response? Even though everyone is saying don't do it and half of me is saying don't do it. I'm just annoyed with their service.

Yes. Good banking app. Good online banking. But does it justify bad service and a 6% higher interest rate?

Go to FNB get yourself a gold cheque and credit card, get yourself to level 5 with ebucks. You will get all your bank fees back by just refueling your car.

I've went back and did some research. This is a good solution. Thank you.

I'm an FNB client so I might be biased but I can't see myself going anywhere else. The service has always been great. The following are the "pro's" I can think of from the top of my head:

-Innovative and progressive with new features/products
-Easy to setup/use online banking
-Very clean, user-friendly online banking portal. I've seen FNB, SB and Nedbank and FNB's is the best...by FAR. You would think they are located in different countries...
-Great, great, great online security features (without carrying weird little dongles some other banks give you)
-Reasonable fees, especially after deducting the Ebucks you earn. Without doing anything different or weird or trying to reach the higher levels, you can very easily get R20-R50 Ebucks a month. This will obviously be a lot higher when you actually try.
-Easy access to cross-sold products (phones, laptops, consoles, insurance, internet etc.)
-Buy airtime, electricity, lotto (off for the moment due to new lotto operating company) and even pay traffic fines etc.
-Share investing features are located within your online banking profile and are easy to use/understand and very well priced (I've looked at MANY options)
-They have all your info so getting a car through Wesbank is easy, quick, hassle free, and the interest rate I got was good

Any bank account is bit of a grudge-buy and it's never going to be perfect but we all need it and basically it comes down to FNB being able to provide you with pretty much anything and everything finance-wise you might need now and in the future when you are old and all at a reasonable price.

Still have both accounts. .. and the nedbank one is pretty much dormant other than for transactions on the home loan... the online portion of nedbank is stuck in the stone age in comparison to fnb.
