Need a contract starting from next month

As I now have a permanent job, my Nokia 5800 phone is driving me mad. As a result I have decided I am going to get my self a contract phone. However as I have never done this before I need so much guidance.

Most posters suggest not taking out a contract. Use it, dont use it.

these days calls are probably cheaper on payg, but not having to recharge is damn convenient
