Need a decent adsl router with wifi capabilities - thinking netgear dg834 or some or other linksys - any recommendations...?

Personally:

I would love a linksys that could be used as adsl router - with wifi capabilities that could split traffic as per gatecrashers thread... - can the netgears do that?

Thanks

As I just said in another thread.

Netgear DG834GT

I have 2 of my own and sold dozens, no problems.

Anyone suggest an ADSL router that has wifi that can run dd-wrt and route local/int traffic as per gatecrashers thread? Also I can get the dg834g for R790 is that a good deal?

You want something similar to the Linksys? Why not just get the linksys then?

I dont know which linksys models are decent anymore - last linksys i owned was wrt54g - I need an ADSL router with wifi and would like said router to handle local/int con at the same time - all done on the router e.g. i dont want to have to use routesentry etc anymore - I know this is possible on the linksys models with dd-wrt but which is a decent model to get?

Also I can get the netgear dg834g for R790 new - is that a good price?

I'm not sure if you can get an ADSL router that runs DD-WRT, but you could always get a cheap ADSL modem and WRT54GL and use those together.

yeah, when you say router do you mean a modem/router or just a router?

when I say ADSL router - I mean a router/modem hence the word ADSL :P

What linksys model will allow for ADSL/ROUTER/WIFI all in 1 and runs dd-wrt?

Any linksys users?
Thanks

well it's best you specify what assumptions you make when asking for advice coz we won't feel sorry for you when you coming back saying we advised you to get a router with no modem capabilities :)

Yeah well its pretty daft mentioning adsl then suggesting a product that doesnt provide any net connectivity :P - but anyhow all I want is a model number and I will take it from there :P - just recommend me a sexy linksys that does it all :P

R790 is a decent price. Try go for the GT though
