need a router

Hi guys,

Just want to know where i can get a decent wireless router(4port) which preferably has a lightning/surge protector and what prices are we looking at for a basic model. Otherwise where can i get a lightening protector from cos i def need one

get a netgear router, they seem to be one of the better ones

You can get a D-link DSL-2640U for about R650. Wireless + 4 10/100mbps ethernet ports.

Netgear are a bit more expensive, but they're good if you have a dodgy line.

As for surge protection... I think you have to get that seperately, but I still wouldn't trust it.

The DSL-2640U is quite popular and it does support PPPoE passthrough (half-bridging), Wireless with decent security.

Other brands that you could consider are Netgear, Cisco (usually quite expensive), Linksys & Billion.
