any AMD people out there to assist? i need more option ,i know a core i5 is a worthy upgrade from my core 2 quad, but which amd processor would be the worthy upgrade?

I don't know much about AMD CPU's but if I had to guess I would say anything higher than a AMD FX-4130

AMD CPU's and motherboards are not easy to come by in SA.

As NAG - Wesley says "Once again, we’re not seeing an AMD build here and that’s because the FX processors continue to be overpriced and out of stock on most websites. Socket AM3+, at least in the cheaper end of the market, continues to be a dead-end for most buyers."

This is for the R6500 build.

However he does recommend the AMD Richland A8-6600K for the R4500 build, but I don't think this would be a suitable upgrade from what you has as it's a dual core and not a quad core.

Overclocking to 3ghz+ may also help a lot, then save up in the mean time and get a i5 or i7

What quad is it?
