Need advice for new tires

Looking to buy new set of tyres. First time buyer of tyres so have little experience on the topic. I need 185/60 R15 tyres. Any suggestions on brands and models? Currently have Bridgestone Potenza that was sold with the car from the factory. From what I have read the good brands are Continental, goodyear, michelin, yokohama, brigestone etc.
 
You need to ensure you have the right speed rating, e.g V, W, H, T etc. yours will probably be H rated.

The second thing is the trade off between treadwear and grip. There is a tread wear indicator on the tire. 300 rating is pretty good. My current set from new has been on the car for 60000 km without rotation. The car came with Hankook. I'll probably get another 10-15000km on the front set. Really happy with that tyre.

Read up on the tyre regarding wet grip.
 
It is a Suzuki Swift so I am not buying tires for speed ratings. I would prefer more mileage over excessive grip.
 
I have Michelin Energy Savers on my car, 195/50/15. I've done 25,000KM on the front pair and they still look like new.
Previously had Nankang NS-2's on, after 20,000KM they looked worse than the turd that lady took on ttygt's driveway.
 
For me Continental are a No No. They get uneven wear patches and make too much noise. Went back to Bridgestone and no problems

+1 energy savers or pilot primacy. They last forever with very little road noise and I have never encountered a situation where I thought that the tyres were I inadequate.

Phone around and ask each shop to qoute you on their best brand name deal.
Then look at the reviews of the tires and make your choice. Those bridgestones are pretty good though so don't go too cheap if you want similar performance.
 
I find Bridgestone (and Potenzas in particular) to be bloody noisy. Another six months or so and mine will be shot, and I can get something that doesn't keep me awake when I'm driving home late at night.
