+1 energy savers or pilot primacy. They last forever with very little road noise and I have never encountered a situation where I thought that the tyres were I inadequate.

The OEM Pilot Primacy tyres on my Civic were VERY noisy, largely due to the square block-patterns on the outer edges. I fitted Dunlop SP6060's after 80,000km when they finally wore out, which were so quiet in comparison it felt spooky!

I find Bridgestone (and Potenzas in particular) to be bloody noisy. Another six months or so and mine will be shot, and I can get something that doesn't keep me awake when I'm driving home late at night.

I'm also looking for quite tyres, over 80km or so I can forget listening to the radio at a reasonable level, hacks me off no end!

I don't think it's possible to find a more affordable and efficient fitment center. Took them 15 minutes to balance and fit my new front set.

I drive a 2014 Toyota Corolla Prestige 1.4 (Diesel) and I need to replace the tyres. I recently bought the car (3 months) and now I need to replace the tyres.

I've never had to replace tyres before and wanted to see what the forum would recommend.

I hear Dunlops and Continental are good brands but I'm no tyre expert.

the tyre spec is 205/55/16 91V (according to the manual) and I want to buy good tyres that will last long. So I don't mind paying a bit more per tyre.

the tyre spec is 205/55/16 91V (according to the manual) and I want to buy good tyres that will last long. So I don't mind paying a bit more per tyre.

Dunlop's are going to be expensive, yes they are very good. During this tyre change, you can do two now and two next month. Just have the tyre place rotate the wheels with the most grip left on the back wheels and replace the front two. Next month replace the rears and have the tyre place swap them again, new on front, previous on back.
For tyre brands, Falcon is a very good alternative brand to the more expensive like Dunlop, Michelin, etc.
I ran the Falcon Sports Tyres (Semi-Soft Compounds) on my GTI for some time, and they were great, good in dry weather and even better in the wet.

Edit: You should also rotate your tyres, this way you get more mileage out of them. Most cars on the road are FF (Front-Wheel Drive) this means the front tyres have to deal with steering and drive, causing a higher degradation on the front tyres than on the back, thus we rotate the tyres.

For rotating. When the front treads dip below 50%, go for a rotation. They will put the front on the back, and the back on the front, because the back will have more than 50% tread.

I have the exact tyres on my 2.0TDI Caddy, good tyre. Pay R 1100.00 per tyre fitted and balanced. Dunlop also offers free insurance on the tyres, just ask them to explain the T&C to you. No idea where you are located, the place I go to is Koenic in Edenvale.

Just go straight to Hi-Q and take what they recommend and do the wheel alignment and balancing all in one shot.

Just do it every 10,000-15,000km when doing the alignment and you’ll have even wear.

Waiting for 50% wear is dark science to start with but also a bit silly.
