If you can't find a cheap secondhand board you can try this company. They might have other cheaper options if you call them. I bought an Albatron mini ITX Socket 754 board for R299 from them a while back and I think they also had the AM2 version of that board.

let me see... got an Asus m32n2 sli deluxe wifi with all the bell and whistles if you want for free... but have not used it in years, so not so sure if it still works ... 
But gladly will ship it... also got an extra 1gb stick of ram for it if you want.
My old PC graveyard ... ai ai . and that mobo was one of the best at the time... hehe
