Hi all

I recently purchased a copy of NSF shift and was surprised to find I had to turn the graphics right down to make the game run smoothly. I must admit I haven’t bought a game in the last few months but didn’t expect my pc to be struggling already..
My pc specs are as follows:
Intel core 2 (6420) @2.13
4 Gigs of DDR 800
Nvidia Geforce 7600GT – latest nvidia diver as far as I know
Direct x 9.0C
Maybe I am missing something but can’t believe my pc shouldn’t be able to cope?
Thanks!

I guess that graphics card of yours' time to live has expired...
Even check at the back of the box, for nvidia it says "Nvidia Geforce 7800gt or greater"..
So i don't realy understand why you are supprised..

Had the same prob with my ATI 2400XT and ProStreet, then I went to the 4850(and I wasn't really happy with AA at 0), and upgraded to 4890.

I feel your pain man.....get yourself a decent Console..That way u can still play games for a reasonable amount of time before upgrading hardware....;)

Try turning down "car detail" to low. This seems to affect performance the most.

Dude, you have a 7 series gpu - and it wasn't even one of the high-end 7 series cards, of course new games are gonna be choppy on high detail :D

I can't even remember when the good ol' 8800 launched, nevermind the 7 series - 2, 3 years ago?

4 years ago :P i got a 7800GTX ... so ya shouldn't be a shock !

I saw the advertisment for this game on tv, is it as awesome as seen on tv

it has an awesome cockpit view, looks so realistic

He is basically asking a playstation 2 to run playstation 3 games.

So explain to me why people upgraded to playstation 3? To play newer games with better graphics, how is that any different to upgrading a gpu?

Well, I've got an 9500GT, 2 Gb of RAM, 6Ghz CPU (3.0 dualcore) and my NFSS runs like crap. My PC plays all of my games without a hitch, yet NFSS runs like crap. Perhaps it's Vista, as I'm using that. Are you other guys using XP?

What other games are you playing with no problems?

Damn that card is a bit light for heavy games hey.

That said, I do play all my games without AA, Vsync and on 1024x768. Doesn't make such a huge difference on quality, and I get decent performance, which for me, is anything over 30fps. Been having quite a performance drop since installing Vista last week, though. Worst purchase ever, but not to go off topic, is this game perhaps a direct port from the console game?

I am very disappointed in NFSS, i installed and also had to turn my graphics right down before i could even think of playing, my specs:

Intel Quad Core 2.2GHz
6GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTS260 1GB
Vista Ultimate

So ya, i dont see my specs being an issue here but it really is bad.

Thats strange. Those seem like pretty decent specs. Way better than mine.
I got core 2 duo 2.6ghz, 4gb ram, ati 4670 and can run the game at pretty much a mixture of high and medium. Textures high, AA2 etc.. Runs as smooth as a babies bottom.
