Alright so i've just booked my flight with swiss airlines to Germany, but now they are asking for my passport number and nationality, I just got my british passport a few days ago, so do I just use that and say my nationality is British?
or do I have to provide my South African details and passport number?

I know this may sound dumb.

your british passport is the easiest to give them.
I did this recently no problems

Use the Nationality that appear on the passport you will be going to use. If the passport says Nationality:British use that.

Is this the airline asking that info? You usually don't need to provide that info (or rather it's probably only use as proof of payment/identity).

Customs at the airports looks at your actual passport (regardless of what you told the airline) and if that's valid to leave the country then it's fine. So i assume Swiss Airlines will ask for the passport, not to validate your legality/citizenship but to make sure you are the person who paid for the tickets.

I'm flying KLM and they never asked my passport details. Only place i have used my passport prior to my flight is at the Embassy for my visa.
