Okay so previously I was on some package by Dobroadband, but I want to join everyone in the rush for uncapped adsl;) The main reason I went with dobroadband a few years ago was because all of this was done in one step, whereas now I need to deal with Telkom and Afrihost seperately. Basically all I want to know is what i need to cancel.

Part of my telkom bill looks something like this:

DSL Fastest R362.28
Rental R0.00
Telkom Closer Option 5 R237.72
T1-AllAccess Advanced 5Gb R209.65

Of that, what do I need to keep? From what I can gather I think I need to keep "DSL Fastest" and "Telkom Closer Option 5", but what is the "T1-AllAccess Advanced 5Gb" from? Could that be from dobroadband?

At the end of all of this I want to be running the 4mbps, uncapped package from Afrihost. What's my next step?
Thanks!

Yea, the 5GB part you can cancel. (the ISP account)
The DSL Fastest you need to keep [DSL Rental] . IF you move to say MWEB and their inclusive package (R900 one) you move this over to them.
The Closer 5 you need (Analog Line Rental) , BUT if you're not using the phone you might want to consider downgrading that to Closer 1 so you only pay R130 and not R237. (in other words you don't NEED to pay that much for this)

So for Afrihost, next step is simply signing up at Afrihost. You don't actually have to cancel your Telkom 5GB -immediately- [for in case you want to compare Afrihost to Telkom] , but up to you. You can have multiple ISPs at the same time [just change username and pw on your router] .

Great, thanks for the help. Will give the afrihost a shot before cancelling telkom as you suggest

Thanks for the links - hadn't seen those. Guess it will be mweb instead of afrihost:)

And the process will be same, as i mentioned , with MWEB you have the option of paying the DSL rental to them [instead of Telkom] which is slightly cheaper than Telkom, but it does mean you're getting tied to the hip to MWEB [i.e. if you don't like them, moving to another ISP is a little more paper work] . But you can take the normal Data uncaped package alone (R539) which is the same as the Afrihost one.

I'm with Afrihost myself, and so far it is ok , but i'm not a "30GB in 5 days" user , so not having too much of a hassle, but it does seem MWEB are offering a superior product in terms of fair-usage/heavy-usage (on paper that is) and is a larger ISP able to cope with the larger influx of users better than Afrihost.
