So im fairly new at building my own pc, the current pc i have is the first rig i put together totally on my own. it is pretty noisy because i havnt put much money in buying new fans or any other cooling.

so now that i do have abit of extra cash lying around i want to make my pc run quietly but i dont know whats good in terms of fans, ive hurd noctua fans run pretty quiet but i havnt seen those anywhere in SA or atleast not by any of the stores i use.

so was wondering if you guys could help i need a 120mm and a 200 mm fan, also maybe an after market CPU heatsink, nothing amazing just something that is reliable and quiet. just have an FX 6300 i want to eventually overclock it to 4.3 ghz

as for the budget i do have R1500 fans look pretty cheap so i dont mind putting in abit extra for less noise.

also http://titan-ice.co.za/ is where i unusually buy all my stuff from so if you could link from there that would be great

i dont think i need water cooling for my medium end rig that ive got. also ive got R9 270x it runs pretty quiet on its own, i dont want to do water cooling just yet firstly because im no expert on building pc's, secondly ive never dealt with water cooling or seen anyone else around me use it so i wouldnt know where to begin with water cooling. i dont think its worth it also unless i go for abit more expensive rig also.

I always suggest buying a big, sturdy, metal chassis with 20cm fans all round. 20cm fans spin slower, are easier to clean and make less noise than 12cm fans.

Keep in mind that if your graphics card or CPU cooler is making all the noise, buying a new case won't help. At all.

like i said i want to replace everything, so does it matter which specific piece is making the noise. also never said anything about a new case. ive got money i would like to make my case look better and also eliminate any noise that is why i am replacing everything.

what i do need:
120 mm pushing the air out the back
200 mm intake at the front
CPU heatsink that's decent and runs quietly

i was thinking:
bitfenix spectre pro 200mm
Corsair AF120
with a hyper evo 212 heatsink

i could possibly mount a second 200mm fan to push air out the top im not sure if i should do that or not...
if ur wondering what case ive got its a CM Storm enforcer

NOISE ANNOYS ME TOO :)

Here's what you do:
-get yourself a hyper 212x -
-get yourself the Corsair fan but if you can fit two 200mm fans, do that instead because typically a larger fan spins slower which results in less noise but moves more air.
- Find a good Fan controller

List all your hardware so that we can see what the possible noise makers are.

Water cooling is pretty safe nowadays; most of the noise from my PC comes from the GFX card.

why did i even bother ill just look at my own reviews.. aparently saying you will replace everything means your looking for the specific part thats causing noise... starting with my 2 fans and my cpu heatsink those are the cheapest parts in my PC so ill start off with replacing them, if i still hear noise ill look into if my PSU or GPU is still making noise.. but right now thats not what im worried about im pretty sure my front 200mm is making the most noise right now...

Ok, firstly adding more fans won't make it quieter. If you're not having heat issues you don't need to add anything. As was mentioned smaller fans are noisier though 120mm is already on the big and quiet side. Try to ensure equal in-out flow taking the PSU fan into account but if unsure rather be on the side of having more outflow. The reasoning behind that is that you don't just want to remove warm air but also supply cold air and a negative pressure inside has a higher chance of doing that. If there are any noisy components rather replace the fans on those first. Make sure that all fans inside are blowing air in the direction of airflow and not against it.

With regards to water cooling, are the pumps silent?
If contained inside the tank the water will dampen out the noise. Otherwise they're not completely silent and some have fans to cool the water so they're not necessarily quiet.

:/ What's your prob dude?
You make one thing quiet then something else starts making noise... I had a case that once I was convinced that it was "quiet", some vibrations from other components started making noise. I only asked so that I/We can help you but do as you please.

Front 200mm is making noise? hmmm, I have 3 200mm Cooler master fans in my Cooler Master Sniper and I can barely hear a thing.

when did i say i was going to "add fans" am i not speaking English or something?

no just that everyone thinks i want to add fans or find a specific problem.. i want to replace my ****ty stock CM fans that came with my case with either better quality/quiter CM fans or any other brand is it that hard to understand?

i just thought maybe some of you guys know whats reliable and good quality.

Ok man just take a chill pill and calm down. From all the uneven posts up to #5 it does sound like you want to add as well rather than just replace. What a lot of people here are saying is that you have to identify where the real problem areas are. Otherwise if you are just replacing what you think are sh*tty fans because of the brand then you are essentially fixing what ain't broken.

its fine by the time you guys were trying to diagnose where the noise from my pc was coming from i managed to check reviews on all the fans i needed, and on aftermarket heatsinks.

deciding to go with:
hyper evo 212
with a corsair AF120
and either a bitfenix spectre 200mm or coolermaster megaflow 200mm

checked out reviews they seem to run pretty quietly. thanks for the uhm... encouragement to find stuff on my own..

You independent free-spirited you. Nice going...

In Antec cases (some) they make use of rubber grommets that the HDD's vibration doesn't go through to the chassis, and then the all the panels have padding inside to damp the noise, I don't think just by replacing fans would make it quiet.

Same as in cars, the padding makes a HUGE difference.

if you just place your pc carefully in an aquarium all your heat and noise issues will disappear :D
