Not sure where to post this tread as its Internet and Gaming related..

OK I'm currently on a 512kbps Telkom line with Mweb uncapped as a ISP. using a Netgear Modem (the little white one from telkom)

About a month ago i had a Frequency problem on my line and my internet connection just started Dropping.. that was sorted out after about a week..

Now i find that when i surf the web my pages take a while to load, or they instant, or i keep getting the Server cannot be found error (I use Firefox).

But the most frustrating problem i have is when i play COD MW2.
I keeping getting audio Stutter when group chatting with mates via steam. i suffer from serious lag till i get various errors of Steam Connection Failed or Client Command Overflow.. I know mweb gamers have issues on MW2 but i've swopped out using my WEbafrica account (its a prepaid account) but still get same lagging issues..

Now not sure if this is line related or not..

if it is line related. can any1 tell how to sort this out.. I've contacted Mweb and telkom and both say its not a problem on their side..

Well you need to post this in the ADSL section first off but here goes..

I have a clan member of ours that had the exact same issue (well almost) but when he switched from a MWEB to a Afrihost account the problem was solved so it pointed to an ISP problem. MWEB basically told him to go and fly a kite. So we got his ADSL service re-created by Telkom and that also did not solve the problem (this was actually recommended by a MWEB call centre employee). Once he had all these facts on hand he contacted MWEB again and then eventually MWEB came to the party and made changes on his service that solved his problems with lag in his online gaming for COD and other games.

Now as far as I can remember Webafrica is also on SAIX which is not peered with MWEB (could be wrong here) and if you make use of the MWEB steam server you will still experience lag. Insist when you contact the Telkom Call Centre that they re-create your service, then try to use another IS account (Axxess, Afrihost) to test your latency in game and so on.

When you have done all of this and have your test results on hand call MWEB and tell them that they are the cause of you problem and have a specialist from their side investigate it and fix what ever is wrong.

Hope this helps.
