Need Help : Opel Corsa Side Mirrors.

Good day,

Hope everything is well.

Just need some assistance, I have a 2008 Opel Corsa D enjoy and one day, I closed my door and the glass fell off on the drivers side mirror and one day while driving the other one popped off.

I have looked everywhere and it seems I can only get the full unit (mirror housing, electrics and all) I just need the glass mirror to attach to everything. I know you can get mirrors cut but then they don't have the correct shape.

Does anyone know where I can get this? I've also called scrap yards and they want to sell me the whole unit as well.
 
First time I hear of such a thing happening, quality in cars has really gone to the dogs.

I think scrapyard is the answer.

Yeah, I agree. Little bit frustrating. One (just the OEM mirror glass and back panel) is R3000 and together it's R5200 from Opel. I check out some scrap yards but no one wants to sell just the mirror have to get the whole mirror unit which is fine but still expensive.

Thank goodness for my Motorbike, I can ride that in the meantime. I don't want any trouble with the police.
 
So Ive tried after market but can't seem to get it, and the only other places are like Wish or something but even then I don't get the exact doscription I'm looking for and often the shape doesn't match exactly.

The scrap yards I've been to only sell cracked mirrors or the full unit. I can definitely go to more and try my luck.

Unfortunately your car is not a very popular one so you will struggle to find a mirror at most scrapyards.

Depending on how adventurous you are, you can drive around Boysens and ask a few scrap yards there. I went through the same exercise with my ex-Polo. Eventually found a replacement mirror in Germiston (through Facebook). I bought the whole assembly and just yanked the glass out.

Also checkout Takealot. You will be surprised what you can find there.
 
Just make yourself a template of the glass part you need and go to a place that supplies mirrors and glass panels.
They will cut you a mirror to your template.
I did that some years ago for a Type 3 VW sedan side mirror.
