Need help to root Vodacom Power Tab 10

As the title states, I need help in rooting my Vodacom Power Tab. Already tried Kingo Root(apk) and KingRoot, and both failed. Anyone know how to root this thing?
(apologies if I've posted in wrong section)

not sure if its a branded Alcatel...will try and find out...
oh and also I tried the PC version of Kingo Root which didn't work as well. Saw a twitter post from the @SRSRoot account which claims that SRSRoot can root this tablet, but it didn't work either(says the tab is rooted, but its not). Will try your link and report back...

What is the tablet model number(VF1296?)?

Do you get specific error when trying to root or does nothing happen?

If you access recovery mode, is there an option to 'disable write protect' or similar?

Yes, Product is VF-1296.
Framaroot just says Root Failed...
Cannot access Recovery Mode. All key combinations(power button, Volume up, Volume down) do nothing. well the "power button + volume down" takes a screenshot. the rest do nothing. Also I tried the ADB Command Prompt method on my PC, entered "Adb reboot recovery" into cmd, tablet reboots, but then writes "No Command" on the screen with no other options...
 
If you can not access recovery mode, the device may have a locked boot loader.

Can you access 'fastboot' mode? If so, you can use the fastboot command to check if the boot loader is locked.

Ok I tried the fastboot command, but all it does is just reboots my tablet and nothing else. Also tried the bootloader command and that also reboots my tablet, then after I get "=>FASTBOOT mode..." displayed on the bottom of the screen, no other options.
 
Looks like you can access Fastboot mode, so it should be possible to install a custom recovery but there does not seem to be one available for your device as yet...will see what else I can unearth...

Discovered the following:

1. Device hardware is manufactured by Alcatel, but they cannot assist with any software issues as Vodacom install their own custom firmware on the tablet.
2. Vodacom confirm that the device boot-loader IS locked.

I do not have access to a Vodacom Power Tab, but this method may work to unlock the bootloader: https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Template:Fastboot_oem_unlock

Recovery mode can be accessed as follows:

1. Power down the tablet. If it is on, press and hold power button, then select 'Power Off' Option.
2. Charge device to a minimum of 70% capacity.
3. Remove charger.
4. Press and hold Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously until Recover Mode is displayed.

Once unlocked, MoDaCo Superboot should work to root the tablet.

Thanx...Will give that a try later and report back...have to charge battery(currently at 35%)

Apologies for taking long to give feedback.
I tried the instructions you gave above and they didn't work. Problem is that I cannot unlock the bootloader. I can boot into fastboot using ADB and issue command to my tablet. The "fastboot OEM unlock" command is accepted by the tablet, but all it does is factory reset my tablet and doesn't unlock the bootloader. Also after that the Volume Down+ Power Button still doesn't work(all that does is just boot my tablet normally).
I also saw other instructions that said, instead of rebooting my device after "Fastboot oem unlock", I should(while in fastboot mode) install superboot then reboot the device, but that didn't work either...
Vodacom have really chained up this device with a very huge chain and lock...
