Hi guys,

Above image R10k was paid and R11k was paid back. So that's R1k profit or in percentage it's 10%.

I need Cell L21 to work that out for me automatically when I enter values in G21 and I21

But that damn L21 cell is showing 110% when my formula is =I21/G21 ( Cell numbers are correct its just how I cut the image )

Why is it showing 110% when it should be 10% ( I borrow R10k, payback R11k, thats a 10% profit for you )

Can anyone help?

11 000 / 10 000 = 1.1 aka 110%.
Look at your calculation again...

Ok, but how do I get it to show 10%? @hondaboysa that calculation doesnt work.

R1000 profit on R10 000 is 10% profit. Or am I a retard?

Your formula should be something like this...

(I21-G21)/G21 = (11000 - 10000)/10000 = 1000/10000 = 0.1 = 10%
jinne my bru, i hev no words. thats sum duk math stuff that. jinne goeie donner

The formula is (I21/G21)-1 to give you a decimal difference. The -1 remove the original amount so it's only the difference

Code:
=IF(ISBLANK(I21),0,(IF(ISBLANK(G21),0,(I21/G21)))-1)

Remember your redundancies.
If I21 or G21 has nothing then show zero.
Set L column format as percentage

ISBLANK = If there is nothing in the cell. You don't want to use <0 as you could have a negative. In which case anything less than zero is set to zero.
