I've never had such an issue with Connecting a printer to my MacBook.

I just bought an Epson ecotank 3250 and I've been struggling for 4 hours to install the driver which I downloaded from Epson.co.za

I during the auto install it says it "you do not have permission to connect to Epson.app" then it carries on installing and I get to the add printer and I have to go to preferences and printers and add printer... It shows up on the list but at the bottom where it has drop down for software it give the message in screen shot attached.
If I select other it gives me a list of other brands. There are two epsons on there, one is Epson 9pin series and Epson 24 pin series. The instructions say nothing about that so I didn't select it.

I can see the printer on my wifi if I go to print from word... I tried to print two images and it printer out an entire page of gibberish code. Both times.

Can anyone help me

I have macbook air m1 2021 model
Running big sur OS 11.3.1

Im at my wits end here. I've never had issues with cannon or hp setup before. Only went with Epson for the ecotank

Does it have AirPrint? Then just skip the driver.

If it doesn’t…send it back now and save yourself the drama.

You also forgot the screenshot.

This is the gibberish it printed and it's supposed to be two images

I get as far as this when the driver installation tells me you do not have permission to connect to Epson.app

Its suppose to show me a driver on that drop down menu but it doesn't.

My MacBook should have airprint but stupid load shedding now so the power is off

According to some Googling, the Epson L3250 does NOT support AirPrint.

It requires either a driver or Windows. It is strange, but not uncommon.

Your problem is I don't think you can return a printer once its opened and the ink was installed. To that end, possibly the Epson driver is your only hope as Epson do claim to support MacOS on this printer.

Looking at your photo, its seems you're sending it PostScript from the Quartz driver, which is not supported by this printer (that usually requires the printer to do some processing).

I would delete the printer, re-run the Epson software and let it handle the entire adding of the printer, and hopefully correct driver.
