Hi guys. So my suburb in Durban has been ignored for getting Fibre and we are stuck with 4mbps Adsl.

We do have Telkom LTE-A Coverage so I'd like to know what's the best solution for me. I use around 200GB a month. I've seen they have a Double Data thing going on. Is that better than the Uncapped Deal? Please advise

Depends on what your needs are. Do you do a lot of streaming, or a lot of downloading, or a mixture of both? You could go for a 50GB peak and 50GB Nightsurfer package and then schedule your downloads, topping up with the 500GB for R50 bundle.

Well since Telkom is selling the B618 now that supports LTE-A I do not think you can get a better deal than a R599 uncapped takeover contract with a B618 and a properly aligned antenna. Will give you uncapped @ full speed for the first 300GB which is way more than the capped accounts can offer unless you go for capped account + 500gb night surfer data that can be a decent combo too.

I do a mixture. It is a good option but I may need a little more data during the day

Sounds good. How do I get this?

You need to try and get someone to take over a R599 uncapped deal. The R799 uncapped deal is still available but almost impossible to get but you can get it with a fight. The easiest was and cheapest way would be to take over a existing R599 uncapped deal because you don't get it at that price anymore and they work with LTE-A and for R599 or R525 if the contract has run 24 months the deal is unbeatable.

That'll be hard... Lol

Im thinking about getting the Smartbroadband 50GB LTE-A. I'll also use the 500GB Night Surfer. So do I get a LIT Box with this and do I need an Antenna? (does it come with?)

Please advise

It does not come with an antenna. @Howto managed to get a free antenna and installation by complaining for a couple of months which is nice but probably not ideal. Antennas that works with Telkom is sold at takealot.com too so that can be a option.

OK. Will investigate this.

on AXXESS Site they say The Huawei B315 Supports LTE-A

Yeah no the B315 does not support LTE-A. Axxess is lying about that and I tried to take them on about it but the people responding to me are to dumb to realize what I'm trying to tell them because they give me some generic reply that they did a drive test around PE that gave and average download speed of blah blah blah

LOL. I hate ISPs that give Scripted responses. I honestly feel that they should rather use bots if that's the case. We write down our problems, seems like they don't even read what we're saying and give a scripted response.

BTW the quoting on this thread is all messed up....

That said yes it makes my blood boil. They just give some random reply not even related to your complaint.
