Need help with series recording on DSTV

I have been recording my favourite series (a documentary about America) using a series recording option on DSTV and now that I have deleted some of the previous episodes, the recording does not continue.

The green symbol (R) continue to show on the program schedule but it doesn't change to a red button when the program has started playing. My main problem now is that it does doesn't allow me to do a new recording of even single episode of the series.

Best bet is to delete the series recording schedule from the menu and re-schedule the series recording - this has worked for me.

On DSTV PVR decoders. If you press the recording button on our favourite series schedule it asks you if you want to record the entire series or just that particular episode.

I have a PVR decoder form the beginning of 2010 and I don't have that function that I've seen - do I need to do a decoder update?
Also these decoders have a pin in order to do a upgrade - is there a default pin or should DSTV have provided me with one?

The silver one should have series based recirding, try updating it, and yes the pin is the same 9949

nope it doesnt record the repeats , well most of the time it doesnt, once in a while it gets confused

Press the RED button, at the top of the screen you'll see Playlist.
Press the right button (next to OK), that will show the scheduled recordings.

only certain chanels have series based recordings, on the tv guide if the program as a green circle you can record the enttire series, when you set to record it will ask you if u want to record just this episode or the entire series

ok thanks guys but I have never seen this green circle since I bought my SD dual view PVR in dec2008. I have also checked the tv guide and have not seen said green circle?

so please give me a channel that has a green circle to check.

also how does one do a manual update? as my "DSD Upgrade" function is permanently greyed out??

SDPVRs don't have series recording, only HDPVRs do
The last SDPVR update was September IIRC, so it will be greyed out & update automatically when its available
