need psu advice

I consider this guy a definite PSU guru (not u PP :p), please read some of his posts, especially the corsair, ripple and voltage posts: http://www.overclock.net/power-supplies/715889-psu-articles.html
You will not regret getting a corsair.
I'm getting the ax 750 next week.

Excellent PSU if you need that level of PSU. One could say the best consumer PSUs on the market. Very poor manual and descriptions of the cables though, just don't plug anything in incorrectly (you'll see what I mean when you have it :)).

what do you think of the thermaltake trx 650m psu. Is thermaltake a good make because it is R900 at pczone and it is a modular psu

It looks like you want everything except the Corsair that's being recommended. Really, get Corsair. Even if it isn't modular, just stick as much cables behind the MB so that it's out of the main airflow area and you should be fine.

I agree Corsair is good but many people here almost worship it.

I'm going to go against the flow and say Corsair doesn't touch Seasonic. Corsair don't actually make PSUs they just take OEM PSUs and put a label on it. They used to only use Seasonic but these days I see things have changed. All the great review sites that actually know how review PSUs say the same thing: Seasonic is top quality.
Eg: Anandtech, HardOCP, HardwareSecrets, jonnyGURU

Pretty much not a single complaint from any review except price. And yes, they are seriously expensive but if you read the review you'll see why, most units can handle up to 400W more than they are spec'd for, have efficiency up to 94%, use only the best components internally (by that I mean solid capacitors, heavily overrated transistors, etc).

They do come with a 5 year warranty but I think most PSUs of quality these days do...

EDIT: Ah yes, Thermaltake, yet another POS brand. Have personally seen 2 explode (yep explode) and 1 burn out. They earn a special place in my book for the worst PSU maker of all time. After I had one explode on me I vowed that I would never buy anything Thermaltake made again. And I won't. Nothing. Ever. Cheap crap is all they make. Overpriced cheap crap.

Well the ax 750 is basically a Seasonic x 750 v2 re-branded, but it's hard to find seasonic in sa and the only place I know that sells them is sybaritic.
The corsairs are just more widely available.

You can also consider the OCZ StealthXStream range, they also quite good quality wise.

The only decent PSU's that Coolermaster makes are the Silent Pro series, and it is very expensive.
For that reason PostmanPot recommended the Corsair CX600, GS600 and TX650 PSU's.

Another PSU that is worth looking at is the Antec HCG 520W.

Good Advice

Cyberdyne Systems sells them (they are a distributor that sells directly to the public). That is also where Sybaritic gets them. Cyberdyne has pretty steep prices but their customer service is pretty good in my experience.

Forgot about them. I've registered with them a while ago, but their mails go straight to my spam :p
