Need some advice, insurance payout

So bought a car over the weekend. Ended up going for the same car I had. Got the Amaze 2019 with 12K on the clock for same price is my insurance payout. Colour is different but otherwise identical.

congrats @Cius, enjoy many happy Kilos ahead,
and hope your not too traumatized about the old car, sounds rough, but then I remember what they always say.
cars can be replaced easily, human beings on the other hand are not replaceable,

Yep, other than all the trouble the only thing I have really lost out on is that the old car had an extended service plan which this one does not have. So I will have to do two services. The interest and insurance cost offset should pay for that, and if I ever get my excess back I will actually have that 3K as extra funds for the trouble.

If i understand your OP, the insurance payed out and therefore you will be purchasing cash, then yes you can definately negotatiate based on the listed price.

My experience has been that car dealerships hate cash buyers and generally won't give you any special treatment just because you're a cash buyer.

its a Honda, those things go forever.
what kind of Kilos do you average usually?

I'm sure you wont end up needing the extra service plan in the end.
but time will tell I suppose.

Honestly not sure what my km will be next year. For now it is almost zero as I am working from home. If I go back to working at the office 5 days a week I do about 7000km a year. However it sounds like going forwards we will be doing more hybrid with some days in office some days not. I would not mind doing like 2 days in office and 3 at home each week indefinitely but I am not sure that will actually happen. Either way I will be servicing once per year, not when I hit the km interval. Not bad to have a low KM car for when I do eventually trade it in.

Most of these extended plans are just an insurance policy of sorts, it’s worth phoning and finding out if it can be cancelled and generally has an admin penalty attached and can be cancelled if there has been no claims against it.
