I have to add i removed and reinstalled Service pack 3 thougth it was causing it did the same with explorer 7.

I got sp3 and ie7. dont think its the problem if you unsure install firefox and see if connects.

I did that last nigth installed firefox it connected once after i restarted mashine it did the sam proxy thing and did not wana connect again.

I always try a few things before i start asking others.

Would have formated if it was not for all the new games movies and seasons i got from last liberty lan .

Then try get those programs i noted above to reset your settings. You should be able to do it manually through regedit but you would have to google on how to do it. If it was me I would proberly repair xp with the installation disk.

Ill try that first thing tonigth when i get home

Do i need flash player to view certain sites like wow curse?
before i my explorere broke it did crash on certain sites like wow curse.

Mine did the same, went to www.macromedia.com and downloaded the new flash player and its working now. But i was still able to browse just not sites that require flash player

how are u connected to ur internet connection? if its through a router try look for the ip address for it and set that as ur proxy and use port 80

now if u are using DHCP for ur ip addresses make sure its active on the router so that u dnt have to set an ip address for ur pc.

see if ur browser is not set to obtain settign automatically if not try that to
