Need to get a macbook for someone.

Hi

I need to get a macbook(pro?) for someone.

It needs to be able to run Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe lightroom, have a reasonable amount of hard drive space and good specs.

I think 15" would be big enough.

Any suggestions for a good place to get one? (need it before Friday).

Also the Software, best pricing in SA?

If they have a student card, go to:

They have the standard Apple prices but give you a student discount immediately if you have a student card. I bought a MacBook Pro from them a couple of months back. They also deal with photography and have lots of Adobe software.

If you don't have a student card, I'd just go to the nearest iStore, the Sandton one if it's close by. The guys on the iPhoneZA forums highly recommend it.

Ditto.

Note that the 2010 MBPs i5 with 4GB memory and 320GB should also suffice for the person's purposes. But the Oct 2011 models should be perfect.

I went to Orange Digital earlier to check if they were willing to sell me an old Mac Pro chassis. They were unwilling to part with it. If anyone has one, please let me know.
